Volunteers needed to help spread the Truth

Have some spare time, or just want to give someone a "piece of your mind"? How about helping out the Knox County Republicans get some good things accomplished? If you'd like to volunteer to help with one of our committees or functions, contact us and let us know at Chairman and let us know what you'd like to help with. If you prefer to write or "blog", we have provided a list below of papers and web sites you can frequent to spread the time-tested and proven policies of personal responsibility, fiscal conservatives, and small government.

Want to spout off, engage in some political debate, or keep up-to-date with what's happening on-line? Well, you can now by joining and visiting our "wall". Create your own "viral" network of friends and help keep them educated on what's really going on.

Don't know what acebook is, what it does, or why you would want to join? You can click here for a introduction to this "social networking site", or here for a quick tutorial on how to set up your own account.

Another way you can help is with writing letters to the editor. We have several members of the Knox County Republicans that can give you a nudge to get over your writers block. The following is current as of 1 Sep.

The Bangor Daily News welcomes letters from readers. Letters should be no more than 250 words, and may be edited or rejected for clarity, taste, libel and space. Op Ed commentary usually runs 600 to 700 words. If a letter or Op Ed is published, submissions by the same writer will not be considered for 60 days. We apologize for being unable to respond to queries. You may provide your input electronically here on our web page.
The public is invited to a meeting of the editorial board held each Thursday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. in the fourth-floor editorial office at 390 Congress St.,Portland.
Letters to the editor should be exclusive to this paper, contain 250 words or less and include the writer's name, address and home and work phone numbers. Readers will be contacted before their letters are published. Readers not contacted within 10 days can assume their letters will not be published. To submit letters:
  • Mail to Letters to the Editor, Portland Press Herald, P.O. Box 1460, Portland, ME 04104-5009
  • Send by e-mail
  • Fax to (207) 828-8154
Maine Voices columns for the Forum page should be 600 to 650 words in length, be exclusive to this paper, contain the name, address and daytime phone number of the author, and be sent via e-mail to mainevoices@pressherald.com as text, not as an attachment. Columns may be published online.
